Finally, we saw some print performance issues in our testing, with the 8025 leaving banding in solid-colored areas of photos. We appreciated its leakproof ink bottles, which made filling the internal reservoirs much less of a messy affair than it was with the Canon Pixma G7020. It also has four refillable ink tanks, which means savings of up to 90 percent on an equivalent cartridge-based model. And there’s a generous amount of bottled ink in the box -- enough for 14,000 black and white pages, or 5,200 colors.
HP will also throw in special coverage and premium features for their HP Smart app for two years. This Canon isn’t strictly for photos, but it’s an excellent option if you need to print quality black-and-white documents and color pictures. Instead of tri-color cartridges, this printer uses a five-color ink system, including an extra Pigment Black ink that makes text and photos come out more resistant and rich. If you’ll be frequently printing colored graphics or photos, you’ll want a high page yield, which these cartridges are. In addition to having two paper input trays, it also has a 20-page auto document feeder and auto duplex printing for utilizing both sides of each sheet.
